Chaplain Ministries

A chaplain wears many hats in his or her ministry.  One of my personal hats says "Jesus Cares", another is G.A.P., "God answers prayers."  I refer to the chaplain's ministry as a 4c's outreach; care, Comfort, counseling and conflict resolution.  Like a pastor a chaplain has a church; it's just not confined to a building or even one particular denomination.  A chaplain ministers the love of God to the whole community; wherever it is needed.  Those who usually could benefit from a chaplain's ministry often do not seek him; he goes to them wherever and whenever the need occurs.

I believe the word of God is foundational to the healing that human hearts long for.  God's truth contains so much good advice for comfort, correction and hope.  Therefore, I facilitate a weekly bible study designed to nourish and heal the needs of the soul and repair relationships.  One of the more important ministries of a chaplain is post-trauma care.  Coming alongside those who are experiencing overwhelming grief or anxiety is critical to the calling of a chaplain.  Equally important is the ministry of reconciliation between God and humans and between people and their brothers and sisters.  A chaplain seeks to promote the peace of God in turbulent relationships.

Sometimes words are not appropriate or needed, but just sitting and listening as a person is grieving or experiencing sorrow is all it takes.  A chaplain must care deeply for the well being of the people to whom he or she is ministering; he or she  must be able to feel their pain and understand what they are experiencing.  He or she must be willing to take the journey with them.

I am available to any one to help in whatever way I can, so please don't hesitate to contact me when the need arises.
